@williambrush Valium (or similar) is a controlled substance and you will need a doctor's prescription from here to get that at the pharmacy. I am not familiar with the other medication.

There is a possibility those are not OTC amd would require a written prescription. I would suggest checking the pharmacy websites or contacting the major pharmacies (Carol Farmacia, being the largest chain), and asking. i would also suggest using the generic rather than brand names when asking.
Both are controlled and require a special prescription to get
@planner I am heading to DR soon and take Tylenol 1 for migraine and other issues.
Can I buy it there or fly into DR with it from Canada as it is considered OTC here.
your better off Bring all that OTC stuff yourself, Advil , Bayer , Motrin , Tylenol , ibuprofen
@Tippj Tylenol 1 has condiene in it which is why I am asking
Bring Tylenol 1 with you, in original container if possible.
can u get diabetic insulin fir free ther? Also where do u go fir blood work?
No it's not free. Blood work at any lab. You can go in and ask for what you want checked and just pay.
I take one drug for high blood pressure. It was free for me in the USA while I was working as my company was self insured and wanted employees to take preventative meds. Telemisartan 80 mg I find is pricey in the DR. I paid $85 USD for 28 pills here in Sosua at the major pharmacies in Sosua/Puerto Plata area. However I have found the same medication available in Medellin Colombia for $7 USD for 30 pills. I now buy a years supply when I visit Medellin on the inexpensive direct Arajet flights from Santiago annually. Also, I find soft contact lens solution quite expensive in the DR at almost $18 USD for a 12 oz bottle. I just brought 14 bottles back with me from my annual visit to the USA. It can be bought at Walmart for 6.64 USD for two 12 oz bottles and brought back in checked luggage. You find ways to adapt when you live here.
