I have dual British and Irish nationality.
Over many years trying to converse, ask questions etc from British consulates in a few countries, I have always felt they would prefer to answer any approach with, “ I am sorry we cannot help you.” And that is before I ask any question
On a couple of occasions when speaking to the Irish Consulate in spain, they have been helpful, we have spoken using first names and they have called me back
My wife is Filipino. Her consulate in Madrid are about 50/50. Sometime good amd others not so.
