American Embassy in Baghdad/Kurdistan

wingsgirl

On a similar topic to having a baby....

When I do have the baby I need to get the American birth certificate and passport. Here in Egypt we just fill out all the papers, make an appointment with the embassy and then get it all done.

I'm NOT going to Baghdad as it means traveling with my two children, newborn, and husband to the embassy. I know the US passed a bill to establish a consulate in Erbil, but there has been no official date for the opening.

I've also heard that the Consulate comes to visit Erbil every 3-4 months. Any truth to that?

Thanks for any info you might have.

My understanding is that consular services (like you're looking for) for Erbil haven't been finalized yet.
