It's a bit like that here. Just a tad over 0C.  I'm seeing on the barometer pressure is steady with a forecast of sunshine. Higher temperatures coming next week so all the snow and slush will be going. But it will take ages to dry out the ground.  I was dog walking in the forest yesterday and it's very muddy and slippery. You can see where material was washed down the hills by the heavy rain we've had. Luckily  I was wearing my 4WD walking boots and the dog is 4LD (4 leg drive).

At least the days are longer. It's now sunset at 16.30h. We're getting back 1-2 minutes a day.  If only it was dry and longer days. We could get our building work completed. Our garden has been a building site for far too long.

It's better today than it was yesterday.

3C, hint of sunshine, definitely brighter.

Sunset is 1 minute longer and Sunrise is 1 minute earlier.

No wind worth noting.

The snow has disappeared but it looks very soggy out there. It was raining during the night - 4.5mm fell since midnight.

So it must be horribly muddy out in the forest. 50-50 on dog walking.

p.s. I spoke too soon, it's raining again,

Very sunny today, snow almost gone except where the sun doesn't quite reach.

Cold day but clear skies. -2C, mild breeze, 1 m/s from North East but not much chill factor.

Days getting longer, sunrise 0705h and sunset 1651h.

Looks like it'll be more or less like this for a week or so.

The full moon is nice and big which gives a kind of twilight reflected off the snow.

Fluffy, where are you in Hungary?

Outskirts of Budapest - it's in my profile.  Click my name.

Slowly warming up here in Budapest.

My friend in AZ had 2 inches of snow yesterday and my friend in Las Vegas posted a video of strong wind drifts with snow in her yeard in Vegas.

Places that one never thinks would snow are and here in Budapest, dry as a bone.

20°C last week, back to 4°C and we even had snow today. Nothing much as it didn't settle, we also had a storm warning 80km/h winds. I think its settled down now.

It's really windy in Budapest at the moment and not very warm.   We had heavy rain this morning.

Any snow is right out of order.  The weather gods are taking revenge (again).

Back to snowing again this morning :(

blizzard-snow.gif

We had some snow - just a tiny bit and it's melted immediately.

But it's cold - really cold with wind chill -1C.

I continue to be amazed we will go from below zero this week and next week, we could be up to 16 to 18 C.

Variations seem to be worse now than they ever were.

They said that we would get a month of rain in 24 hours, and they weren't wrong. Its just been non stop, so much it woke me up. At least I am not in the mountains because they had warnings of snowstorms,

It might be the dregs of Storm Noa.   We're having all day rain today.  At the moment, it's dull and rainy looking right now.   The workers who are landscaping our garden won't be coming and I won't be out there either.  It's only about 10C with a bit of a wind from the North East 2 m/s.   Falling pressure so yup, rain is coming.

Not even sure the dog wants to go out either and she's usually up for anything outdoors.

Things seem to be more variable than in previous years. It used to be you could set your clock to the changes in weather - like on this day this will happen, after that day it will be like this etc.  Doesn't seem to be like that now.

End of the month, we're expecting UK visitors so I hope it's all sunny and warm for them.  We even planned to go to Balaton to look at the water.   Fingers crossed.

And still raining - 32 hours nonstop (not sure about 4 hours of that as I was sleeping)

Only 4h? I think I manage about 5 or 6h (if I'm really very lucky).   For some reason I always wake up at about 0330h and end up looking at my phone.   I might drift off again but by 0630h, I'm awake again.   Usually  my back or neck hurting wakes me up.

It's mostly sunny here but the clouds are coming back.   Yesterday's rain filled up my water butt and gave the plants a good soaking.  So there's an upside.

It's warmed up a little bit at around 10C.

Looks like Lower Austria is getting dunked big time.    I am sure everyone will cope.

I think if the weather lays off for a bit, we might even be able to fit in a dog walk between showers.

I was in the garden and it's a mudbath. Avoid!

4 hours of sleep?

Yikes, I am out cold for a min. of 8 1/2 to 9 hours every night. Anything less then that and I'm toast the next day.

I guess I run on double speed in my waling hours?

I used to work shifts:  0600h-1400h, 1400h-2200h, 2200h-0600h

I liked the 0600h-1400h best.

Still had time to do stuff during the day.

They say it will rain today but so far it seems like clear skies.

Have errands to run so hope it stays clear out.

Shift work, no thanks...

I know I had a shift job once but I've forgotten what it was. I must of quit really fast not to remember the job.

The worst was a dealing job I had in 2000.

I could of gotten day shift but we visited Hungary and I missed out on being hired with the rest of the crew from a different casino.

They opened up a brand new casino in Vegas and most of the crew I worked with were all going over to the new place. It was either there or the new at the time Paris casino.

I visited HU for 6 months instead.

I walked in the casino to say hi to my old co-workers when we returned to Vegas and was hired on the spot but put on graveyard shift. That was 8 pm till 4 am!!! I'll tell ya, the real weirdos come out after midnight!!

I thought I could get day shift within a reasonable amount of time.

The tips/tokes were fantastic but the hours were killers.

I quit after about a month, went to where I could work days even though it was over a buck a day less,( in casino lingo that meant at least $100. per day less for the same work).

I've never held a job for the money because if I wasn't having fun or enjoying it in some way, I'd quit like nothing.Spoiled ,not really ,I figure one has to spend allot of time at work, be there at an appointed time and give it your all, it has to be at least fun to even show up.

They should of given me day shift if they wanted to keep me was my way of thinking. I worked at the day shift casino for over a year and was rehired there when I once again quit to visit Hungary.

It is rare to get day shift when you are new at a place and to get rehired is a big deal. Guess they liked me.

My husband was rehired 5 times at the same taxi co. in Vegas. That must of been a record.

I hope they make it worth your while to work split shifts.

What a change, today we have blue skies and its 17°C!

It was quite nice earlier on but the clouds have come back, we had a few drops of rain and now it looks dull.  I think tomorrow will be partially cloudy.  About time we moved on from rain.

I managed to spend 1h in the garden.  I was turning over the compost heap and getting some trash out of the shed. Just generally tidying up. I checked the oil/fluids in the car etc.

It's still like a bomb hit the garden. It's mud that's a problem.  The landscapers have created giant mess with their tractor.  But somehow it's beginning to look tidier than it did before now we're nearing the end of the construction phase.

Cold today, they said it would rain ☔ but so far it's held off.

Been really variable here as it's been cloudy a lot of the time.  Today was quite warm. I still wore a light coat walking the dog but by the time I got around the circuit, I was in hoodie and T-shirt only.

I was just outside looking at the car and it's T-shit weather now and we even had a burst of sunshine.

Tomorrow I hope will be "proper" Spring weather.

They said it would rain at Noon. But it only started at 21:40. I think its just a passing shower.

Pfff...what kind of weather forecast is that.  Getting the time so very wrong.

I reckon looking out the window and checking the barometer is almost as good as a forecast.

Really lovely looking outside with very nice sunshine but it's so COLD!

Only 11C here at Fluffy Towers and quite high winds (5 m/s).  Should be at least 15C or a bit more.

UV is quite high at 5.3 so danger of over exposure.

We're expecting a visitor at the weekend I think they are expecting better weather after we hyped up how nice it was in Hungary in Spring time.  Wrong!

Yes, woke up , saw the sun and thought alright it's a nice day to run some errnads.Saw the trees blowing and put the kabash on it.

Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?

No reason to breath in all that pollen let alone whatever else is in the air.

I realized just yesterday that the Pope is coming to town. ( I'd be more excited if it was Santa)

Our church is having  him visit on Sat. morning.

I have to get away for sure on Sat.

All those people outside and all the hoopla .

I have no idea how they plan on all these people in the church courtyard, I'm sure they will close the sts.

I suppose they will have screens set up .

Last week when we walked by we noticed them patching areas of grass under the trees where it doesn't get my sunshine.

Things have to be perfect for those photo shoots.

We can hear the church bells ring every hour but over time we have tuned them out and I hardly notice any longer.

I'm sure they will be ringing none stop  over the weekend.

Yes,  I'd prefer Santa.   Ho-ho-ho.   At least Santa wouldn't hang around. I saw the Pope was coming only yesterday but he's not coming to Fluffy Towers.  If he was we'd be polite I suppose but he wouldn't be first choice for a visitor.  I think I'd rather someone like Einstein, Brad Pitt or Stormy "Squeaky" Daniels dropped by.  The latter also ho-ho-ho.  That's a cheap joke. Sorry Stormy, we know you're just in business on your own account even if you deal with the likes of Teflon Donald "John" Trump.  Sorry Donny, another cheap joke.  I couldn't help myself.

Our own visitor is arriving almost at the same time as El Papa arrives and worse, departs about the same time too.  This is really inconvenient because it'll block up the roads around the airport.  He could have thought about us. Just selfish.   There's no chance the Pope will be on the same plane - he's not going to be on Wizzair.

We're having a Spanish week - El Papa means Pope but it also means Potato.  There must be a joke in there somewhere but I shouldn't be hanging out here today. Work calls but it's so boring!

Nothing like taking a "cheap shot".

The Stormy joke was funny, and more then likely true.

Get to work, those bills aren't going to pay themselves..Not everyone has the ,"luxury" of being retired.

Funny thing is even being retired has it's duties.

Suppose the only real rest is 6 feet under!

Enjoy the houseguest, seems they are only staying a few days , way before they go off.

Back to the weather...

Heard it is reported

that it's going to be a colder then average summer.

Monday we had an appointment across town and I ( It's on me) forgot our umbrellas.

It took longer then expected to finish our business but the rain cleared up by the time we left the place. There is always a silver lining if you look for one.

I'm still disappointed with Squeaky Stormy.  I was hoping for her to storm into politics as a celebrity candidate but it ain't gonna happen. I want of course DT's face to be rubbed in it that she could possibly be elected but he couldn't.  Well, we'll see. Maybe she could stand as an education commissioner/Superintendent in Podunk, Ida-ho. See what I did there?

Sliver lining indeed.  The plants don't need manual watering and it looks like our new grass/lawn is finally growing thanks to these unseasonal downpours. Mrs F sowed the grass seeds by hand rather than buy ready made grass to unroll in the garden. It's a lot cheaper to grow your own. Same for "you know what", not that I would ever recommend anyone do that.

Usually May is a really nice month but I'm not seeing that on the forecast. The Pope will get rained off. If he's so connected, he could put in a word with the big guy/gal ;)

Well, the Pope's visit could be arranged to have ,"perfect" weather if they chose too have it that way.

Weather manipulation and all.

He could contact the ,"big guy in the sky" but I don't think he has the insider connection is says he does.

Ida-ho, Biden is going to run again in 2024.

That's blows my mind, He seems lucky if he can finish this term out as it is.

Seems the wind has died down, glad for that at least.

I think the Pope isn't that well connected too. He just thinks he is.  OV might be connected but to the other place. Maybe OV also means "Oy vay"!

There's a online clickable plan of where the Pope will be - click here (in Hungarian)

My natural leanings are towards the Democrats, not that it matters, I'm not an American but it does matter internationally.

I'm also beginning to think Joe is too old for the job and he should retire gracefully and make way for a younger person. I don't rate his VP much either. She's got no hope of being President. I am feeling these days I want to retire and I'm almost 20 years younger than Joe. Last thing I'd want to do is take on that kind of job for longer. I'd be more interested in tinkering with my car, the garden and walking the dog.

On the other hand, if Joe can keep out Trump (he may be doing time anyway) and De Santis (in trouble with the Mouse again as of this morning) or any of those Trumpist style lunatics, then I'd be supporting Joe's re-election if I could, if only to keep the nutters at bay.

Meanwhile, at Fluffy Towers, it's really sunny but it's shockingly cold for this time of year. I'm thinking of taking most of the day off to work on garden stuff. I have to finish my garden lighting cabling.

I cannot believe in the middle of May, we're suffering from 11C and downpours.

It's been pretty much raining all day (15mm here so far) and will continue for the rest of the week.

Forecast say we'll jump back to 24C by Saturday.

I looked at the weather maps and there's a mini-weather depression suck right over Budapest.

Even just 40km away, some maps are showing 22C!

Last few days I've had a hot water bottle to ease my back and warm up, but just tonight we decided to put the heating on to get the chill out of the house.

Today its not stopped raining and have a high of 9°C
