Singapore lawyers are costlly - and even if you win a court case, you are not automatically or always entitled to get your legal coists reimbursed by the other party. Thus matters that are worth less than a few thousand S$ are not usually worth pursueing.
For certain matters, a (very cheap) complaint with the Small Claims Tribunal is possible, and if so, always preferable.
