We are currently in Cuenca and are finding things pretty much as we thought with a few exceptions.
What I want to know is, does anyone know about Ham Radio in Ecuador? I a currently a licensed ham in the U.S. and wonder how I can put my hobby to use here. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Considering moving to Ecuador when I retire in a couple of years.
I am a Ham Radio Operator, but haven't been too active lately, but plan on getting back into the hobby after I retire. I was wondering about using my Advanced Class priveleges down in Ecuador. Any hams out there can you help me with any special rules they have in that country? Thanks. We will be in touch.

If you aren't adept at handling pile-ups already, start practicing now. You will be the DX and everyone is going to want to talk to you, and all at the same time! I recommend learning N1MM Logger.
