Hi there,

Which are your 10 favorite places to go out in Wellington?

Which places would you recommend to newcomers? (restaurants, pubs, discos, theaters, cinemas, concert halls...)

Thanks!

There’s plenty to do in Wellington and it also has a great nightlife. Here are my top 10 things to see and do in Wellington

Wellington cable car
Wellington Zoo
Botanic Gardens
Oriental Bay Beach
Mount Victoria’s 360 degree views
Matiu/Somes Island
New Zealand Fur Seal Colony
Te Papa museum
Bush walking.
Downtown Wellington is the best shopping place and Old Bank Shopping Arcade

Wellington has more cafes, bars and restaurants that any other city in the world.

About 45 minutes north of wellington the Wairarapa region (Masterton/Carterton etc) is also worth visiting - especially if you enjoy wine. Catch a train from wellington.

Betty's
Alice
Tasting Rooms
Havana
Southern Cross
Good Luck
The Establishment for a bit of a dance!!

Dukes Carvells is totally hip (off Cuba Street) -- super edgy, cool, steampunk, alternative, omg so awesome.
the usual "Mighty Mighty" for every month, burlesque alternative poetry.
"Good Luck" bar .
Um, "The Matterhorn" for some hip action.
Keep away from Courtney Place.
"Fred" and "Happy" for arty alternative weird :-D

Keep away from Courtney Place, unless you're a mainstream kind'a guy or grrrl
Havana for coolness
Southern Cross every Monday night for the free "conspiracy documentary night" .. whoa.
