cccmedia

Ecuador’s government forecasters predicted that El Niño would impact the country into April of this year (2016) .. and they were right.

A nationwide pattern of historically heavy rains caused landslides, flooding and road closures this past weekend.

In the coastal province of Esmeraldas, 100 families were evacuated from their homes due to flooding.

The main road from Quito to Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador’s fourth largest city, was closed .. and has partially re-opened.
