I am A PHD in Lifescience and recently have been offered a job as assistant prof in Al-Qassim University.
The salary package mentioned is
SALARY: - Basic salary as per KSA govt. Norm + 15 % inflation of Basic + SR 400 Experience allowance + Accommodation+ Transportation+ Furnishing allowance
Can anybody tell if its a decent salary to Survive?How much does that come to permonth
Also whats the cost of living in Al-Qassam??

Just now have got to know the package..
Its 5600SR basic + 15% inflation of basic + 500 Transportation
That accounts to SR 6940
Accommodation 25000 SR annually and initial 12500 SR furniture allowance.
Is it enough to survive and whats the cost of living in Al-qassim

I'm sorry for being kind of off topic, but is that really what they pay for a PHD?! Oh I'm so glad I didn't even bother trying to get one...
Anyway, don't mind my comment ma'am coz this package is considered good by many, I'm just comparing with other professions. Cost of living may vary depending on your own quality of life standards. 25k should be enough for a good appartment in Qassim. Furniture will certainly cost more than 12.5K but that amount will buy you the basics you need.
