Renting is not always easy. You are competing with others who also want to rent, and the Landlords or Agents will often pick the best Tenant in their opinion.

You normally need to provide references and proof of financial capacity to pay the rent.
Some people offer a higher rent to the agent in the hope that it puts them at the top of the list.

What I did was offer to pay three months rent in advance, but even then it was not easy. Some agents accepted a higher offer. It does of course depend on how 'in demand' the properties are.
