Try to contact.Some of my friends teach there. they are more famous cram school in taiwan. But i am not sure how they work.
in my opinion, if you want to teach English in Taiwan, everything you need is only "patience". Good luck.

where are you planning to stay? i am in Hsinchu

Are you in Taiwan at the moment? 

If not, I'd say wait until you get here so you can decide where you want to live.  Before I came I had this idea of living out in the country.  After two weeks here I knew it was Taipei or nothing.

Are you a qualified/experienced teacher?

If you are then you shouldn't have a problem finding work here.  It might take some time, though.

Chain schools aren't a bad idea, but don't sign up with them from abroad.  Come and have a look around first.  If you can't find anything, then use HESS as fall-back.
