I want to buy something online, no friend come here recently. Can't estimate the time and tariff if using forward company. I am thinking about can I ask help to bring it? I will pay for it.

It might help to provide an idea of weight and content of said "things."

Are you proposing to have the vendor drop-ship the merchandise to an address of someone you don't know....

netbean

yeah, that's the difficult thing.
I want to buy a laptop.

how about this: I pay $50 first, the friend bring it pay the laptop online, then I pay the laptop & another $50. is this a good idea?

Have you priced laptops in Guayaquil?  I am assuming that is where you are living now from your profile. Just curious what brand and model are you interested in, and what it costs in Guayaquil versus the United States?

Essentially, you're asking a favor -- international delivery -- and so you should not expect your cyber-"friend" to front the main expense.

If you pay for the laptop online and have it delivered to the "friend," of course you have to trust the "friend."  Weigh that risk against your potential savings (based on the calculations Nards suggested).  I don't see any reasonable recourse for you if the plan somehow goes sour.

You have another expense to consider:  the airline may assess an excess luggage charge.

thanks for reply, I guess this is just an idea talking on forum, or maybe start a small biz for some people to earn extra money? There is one business like this between Hongkong & mainlamd.

I would like to purchase a 4k QHD screen toshiba laptop P55t, I don't think it is saled in EC.
