I suspect the lack of replies on this thread is indicative of the lack of Expats in Santo Domingo.

If anyone wants to go to a large Ecuadorian city where there is almost no chance of encountering the English language and there is a long broiling summer of consistently 90-degree-plus days, the place to go is probably Santo Domingo de los Colorados.
