I am a US citizen (New York) living in Bern. Does anyone know what US document will work as proof of residency?

If you mean proof of US residency: I went to a voters registration office in my home state. I explained I needed proof of US residency, and they provided me a document based on my voters registration in that state that the Swiss accepted it. This was about 10 years ago for me, but it might still work. Hope this helps.
