Embassies in Tripoli

The BF embassy is on Gargaresh Road - Driving out of town, pass the first filling station on the right hand side and the embassy is about another 100m before this filling station. You can clearly see the flag from the main road. If this is the residence, rather than the embassy someone there should be able to help you.

Just to add - does anyone know if they'll a) issue visas in a day & b) do they adhere to Libyan working week? (I would presume so!)

Most places issue visas in five working days - so a week end to end. Officially at least.

It is possible to get visas to some countries (I would imagine BF being amongst them) quicker, next day even, but be prepared to do some haggling over the express service fee..

Anyone know where the Chinese embassy is?  Went looking today based upon the Google maps and had zero luck.  Offical website states Menstir street, Andalus, Gargaresh.  Does anyone know whereabouts, (i.e. what is in the area, north or south side of road, east or west of the wadi) this Menstir street is?  Any clues would be great.

I always thought that the embassy was in Siraj. Unless this place is a residence or annex type place?

From dysfuction junction / Regatta roundabout, take the exit slip road towards Siraj. After passing across the small roundabout drive through the main street, then approx 1km over the brow of the hill and there's a turning on the left, directly opposite the new furniture shop and Islamic school. Go down here 1km and turn right on the tree-lined lane, the Chinese embassy is on the left. You can't miss it, a big feck-off white painted building inside a big wall. Very close to the American school.

Great directions Sandman - not the embassy, (I wonder if there may be a Chinese school???).  Talked with the embassy this a.m. and they told me to go talk to the folks at the New Chinese restaurant for directions.  Sounds like it is in that vicinity, near the Emirati embassy, (don't know where the Emirati embassy is either, lol).  The treasure hunt continues.

Google Earth Co-ordinates of Chinese Embassy - 32°51'29.14"N and  13° 5'10.50"E.

In between Gurji and Gargaresh about 3 "blocks" to the west of the New Chinese Restaurant, (the Chinese restaurant near the Shell residence).

And I am looking for the Syrian Embassy - I guess they have moved, from what I can gather. No phone numbers I have received are correct and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know?

I duuno the name of the street, but it's in one of the back streets off Quadisya Square / roundabout in Dahra
