I am in the process of trying to get all of the paperwork for the life partner visa together with my girlfriend. She is South African and I am American. I have been living here in Johannesburg with her since the beginning of december, last year on a extended tourist visa. I am going back to America on the 28th of this month and I want to get everything together that I will need to get here before I leave. We were going to go through a visa agent but we don't have the money for it as I have not been working and living on savings since I got here.
My understanding is I will need proof that we have been living together, we have been living with her mom here so I guess we will need some sort of paper from her saying that we have been living with her. I am unsure what this will need to be, does anyone have a idea what I will need to prove this?
I also understand we need to show financial dependence, how can we do this we tried to get a joint bank account but that didn't work as we couldn't find a bank that did joint accounts here and also they wouldn't let me get a account on a tourist visa. The only other thing I could think of is I bought a car here for R17500 and I have a signed paper from the guy I bought it from saying I paid for it and we then registered it in her name, would this help to show financial dependence? What else might we need to do to show that?
The third thing we have been having a with is the life partner contract what would it need to say and where could be get it? We have not been able to find anyone that will write it other than the visa agency but they all wanted to do the whole package and we can't afford that right right now.
As far as understand it that is everything we would need to get together while I am here so I could file for the visa when I am back in America. Am I correct or would we want to get some other things together while I am here?
