Hello all,

I am Kalai Vani Ganesan, a 3rd year Engineering student from Anna University, Chennai, India. I have been awarded a DAAD scholarship under the WISE (Working internships in science and engineering) programme. I will be interning during the period 16 May 2012 to 15 July 2012, at the University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart.

I am in need of accommodation for these 2 months. I have been trying at the Studentenwerk of the university for accommodation. But so far they have not responded well. I am running out of time as I must start procedures for applying visa very soon. Can you please guide me about this? Is there some way you can provide accommodation for me with you? Or do you have any contacts which you can give me?

Thanks a lot.
Looking forward to an early reply.

With warm regards,
Kalai.

Hi Kalai,

Short term furnished accommodation, as you need it, in Stuttgart is rare and expensive.
Basically, you have the option of a cheap hotel or B&B, at min. EUR60/night, a short-term serviced appartment, at min. EUR600/month. Obnly great luck or personal connections will give you anything cheaper.
I have some leads for the second option at home, since I was recently looking myself, so please PM me if you need it.

Good luck!

Have a look at couchsurfing.org ... If you don't find anything in Stuttgart you can have a room at my place for a couple of nights/weeks (you could stay the whole period but I need to check at work first if I didn't plan any vacation in this time frame because then I wouldn't be at home). I live in Böblingen which has a direct S-Bahn connection to the University.
