I've been trying to get a loan to buy a car in SA but things seems to be a bit more tricky and complicated than any other place in the world. I do have a work permit, a permanent contract, international drivers license and everything that's required, but since I've been here for less than three months, is like NO-in your face!
Anyone with advice on who to go to? Any specialized expats car sellers?

Have you tried getting Finance from a car dealer? I know cars are expensive over here but I've been told their finance rates are reasonable and cheaper than getting a loan from a bank. Not checked it out myself yet as I only arrived here 10 days ago myself, but a lot of the guys at work have suggested this route. Good luck
