so theres been alot of speculation as to when it would happen but I just looked at the UK embassy website in Ankara and its official... well for UK citizens for sure. You can now only stay in Turkey 90 days out of 180 days http://ukinturkey.fco.gov.uk/en/help-fo … ant-update

I think these new visa laws will apply to nearly all nationalities so better all check with your respective consuls. This new law has been in the pipeline for ages but only now implemented so people have had plenty of warning. The good news is that residence permits have been considerably reduced from what they used to cost.

Yh it has made things slightly easier with the reduced visa fees but getting an appointment takes a while. I applied for mine in December and didnt get an appointment until Feb... you can book an appointment online through http://yabancilar.iem.gov.tr/randevu.html ... i checked the fees and its currently 60 euros for the years permit and 172tl for the resident book
