you can apply tourist visa to entry to turkey after entry then you can apply the visa to live in turkey but you have to show money on your bank country around 6000 dollar :P have a fun !!

How abt Short term residence visa (one year)?, what else required? rather than bank statement (6000$) and valid tenancy contract? ist there any other documents?

You've got to show where you're staying. If you're renting ..you' ve got to show the contract. (80tl for notary fees)
I don't if it's applicable for the hotel...but I guess it would be fine.
