Lakcímkártya Help

Post new topic

I am a US and Hungarian citizen.  I have a US and Hungarian passport.  When I received the Hungarian passport I also received a  lakcímkártya with NO address on it.  I bought a flat in budapest so I now have an address.  Lastly, I also have an ID card with my photo on it.  I am trying to do a transaction with MBH bank in Hungary they require my  lakcímkártya with an actual address on it.

So I am trying to figure out if I can update my lakcímkártya to show my current address through the internet, or does it HAVE to be done in-person?  Thank you for any help with this matter.

You should go to the Kormányablak in person in the district where you live.

@carleski222 You can do it online through ügyfélkapu but I don't know how long it takes to receive the actual card. If it's urgent then go to the nearest kormányablak, they issue the updated card right away.

Takes about week to get it in the post I believe.   Going to the kormányablak sorts it out on the spot.

I tried using the ügyfélkapu system and they still want to give you physical things like access cards at the kormányablak.   In other words, you still need to go to the kormányablak  to get registered.   Sort of half defeats the purpose of doing things online.

Do you actually live in Hungary? (If so, you should have gotten a lakcimkartya with an address on it...) Registering your address and thus establishing residency in the country might have some taxation consequences...

When I first got my HU passport I was not living full time in hungary so that is why the card didn't have my address on it.. Since then I bought a flat and I'm living there. So I need the card to reflect that.
