Apparently teaching English is underpaid and not a viable option?
I am a journalist, although jobs are hard to come by, especially because my Spanish is only middling, not fluent at all.
Apart from that I have office skills and customer service skills.
Where do I fit in in Buenos Aires? Please say there's a place for me!

It is not realistic to expect to make a living teaching English, or any other language here. Jobs are damn near impossible here for locals and much more difficult for foreigners. Your best bet is to find work that you can do via the internet. I have lived here for nearly 5 years and worked here for about 3 1/2 years. I nearly starved to death and have a lot of highly specialized skills. My salvation has been transferring such that all my work is outside the country. I am now making very competitive USA wages and even more important, I am earning it in dollars which are artificially inflated here.
