How much indian rupees can I take from Bahrain to India?

Help me plz

Hi .I am traveling from Bahrain to India in a few days. One of my friend has asked me to take some indian currency to India to give to her family..so how much indian money am I allowed to take with me?

You aren't allowed to take more than INR 25K out of India. In any case, they can convert BHD to INR here

Maybe you should ask the Embassy of India in order to have an idea of the exact amount you can take out of Bahrain.

@Help me plz i strongly recommend you not to carry cash into india at this time, if your stopped and you don't give a proper response they may confiscate it, because it's election time. You the proper channels like western union or bank account transfer.  As mentioned above 25k is the limit.
