Unfortunately, this is a perfect example of what I previously advised, all work-type visas, worldwide are always political items in as much as they can be offered and withdrawn at the stroke of a politician's pen.
In this case, the funding has been switched to an alternative which on paper is offering more for less and the article says that Tech Nation is investigating selling their key assets and relevant DCMS (?) staff may switch to Barclays Eagle Labs as part of a redundancy scheme.
