If it's just a small 2/3 drive NAS unit I'd chuck it in the suitcase and hope for the best. Pretty sure any problems you have would be at the US end, so make sure there's nothing on it that would trigger a copyright lawyer, and nothing ... Read More
Looking for help getting my computer here from the U.S. by Travelfar
I have read enough to understand importing second-hand [used] household goods is not allowed. Specifically, computers are not allowed. Is shipping my personally owned computer here where I am now living considered "importing"? Is it ...
Forget about bringing the whole desktop PC, if that's what you have. Clone your hard drive to a new SSD or a big SD card(s), stick it in a laptop, and bring that. My travel laptop in an old Thinkpad X230 that I got off ebay and threw some more ... Read More
Why the morally suspicious behaviour of some Vietnamese people? by WillyBaldy
I've had this question for a long time but it's very subtle and not easy to correctly express. I don't want the question to sound like "Why are so many Vietnamese people morally corrupt?" because it's not really want I want ...
If I had to pick one 'answer' from this thread, this would be it. On a positive note, she told me "thank you" by text after our movie night, which is a rare occasion I ever got a "thank you" after inviting a Vietnamese ... Read More
Anyone have any further info on this upcoming tourist visa change? by qnbui
From what I've read and heard, it affects tourist visas over 30 days and you have to get re-stamped every 30 days. Could drive away expats from VN like the Thai laws that are driving away expats in Thailand. Hopefully it doesn't affect most ...
Well I'm stuck in Blighty waiting for the VN immigration department to get back from lunar new year festivities and issue me a new 3 month tourist visa, but maybe the silver lining will be cheaper airfares by the time it arrives, bless those ... Read More
How to check motorbike brake pads and disk wear by sanooku
Does anyone know how to check motorbike pad and disc wear? I have a Yamaha Nouvo. Had a look at the front wheel but I can't seem to see the pads at all. Perhaps it’s well covered up for good reason (keep water, grime, dust away from pads ...
If the lighting was better in the from-front pic you should be able to see how much meat is left on the pads. Easier to see when there is actually a bit left to see haha. Never had a bike I couldn't ogle the pads with a bit of squinting. But ... Read More
Buying and selling gold by Sean425
Does anyone know a reputable place to buy and sell gold in HCMC?
Look for places full of locals, and take a local with you when you go shopping for shiny. Gold jewellery here is very close to spot prices, none of the fantastical markup you get in the West, as long as you avoid fancy brand names in malls etc. ... Read More
Is the flooding in Ho Chi Minh City getting worse year by year? by NYSTEACHER

Hogwash. Globalists have been pushing active population reduction for decades, the UN's Agenda 21 being the most famous example, but there are many others. And legions of scientifically illiterate thugs are cheerleading these insane ... Read More
