Not to worry about the expats, the real threat is Western food products that are destroying the health of these cultures.

The western idea of fast food is not very good nor is it very fast.

I was pondering this as a I walked into a Bun Ngan shop. It took all of 30 seconds to serve me a deicious, healthy and nutritious bowl. I was in and out before I could have queued at a McDonalds, wait for my food and find a table.

Call it american idea of fast food... Here in Budapest there are plenty of self-service restaurants where I'm served in less than a minute with proper food.

Its not just western fast food culture, its western ideals also.
Here life is more family centered, in the west there seems to be a lack of morals and ethics..

I know a few people here that lo e the glitz that the west promises, and yet they see a western guy as a route to this life style. Only to find that 'most' western guys here are only after a quick hook up.

Better food, better service here for sure.

Walk into any shop and get a good quality bowl of Pho, faster than waiting in McDonalds or KFC
Wants a light bite and coffee ? Head to highlands and have vietnamsse bread and coffee. Fast service, good prices and not a hint of preprepared fried western food i  sight

It’s my observation and opinion that Vietnamese family values are stronger. For example, it would be a sin to put your parents in a nursing home and not to take care of them in old age. Do they even have nursing homes there? People in the west wouldn’t bat an eyelid to put their parents into care homes.

When it comes to how Vietnamese treat other Vietnamese outside of their family circle...strangers in society, then it’s very much everyone man/woman for themselves. Evident in how people drive, no giving way.

Selfless for family and friends, selfish to everyone else.

Yes they do, but not overly common.
