IT Support & Systems | Networking | Cybersecurity Student

I'm a US-based IT professional and Information Systems student specialising in Cybersecurity, with more than 20 years of experience in the professional workforce across customer service, client support, and other professional roles, alongside formal education in networking and hands-on technical support experience.

I hold a US associate degree in Networking Systems Administration and am currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, specialising in Cybersecurity. Alongside my formal education, I'm continuing to develop my technical skills through independent learning and practical projects.

My professional background includes customer service, technical troubleshooting, software support, and assisting people with technical issues. I'm interested in building on that experience through opportunities in IT support, service desk operations, technical services, systems support, and other suitable entry-level IT roles. I'm also working towards developing my longer-term career in cybersecurity and security operations.

I'm particularly interested in opportunities in Cork and Galway, although I'm open to other locations throughout Ireland for the right position.

Relocation Plans & Employment Eligibility

My long-term goal is to relocate to Ireland and establish a permanent home and career there. I'm actively exploring opportunities with employers who may be able to support an eligible Irish employment permit, allowing me to relocate sooner rather than waiting for my alternative route.

My current backup plan is to arrive in Ireland in late June 2027 under the Working Holiday Authorization (WHA). Subject to its conditions, this would give me temporary permission to work in Ireland during my authorised stay.

For employers, this could provide an opportunity to assess my skills, work ethic, and suitability for a longer-term position while I gain professional experience in the Irish workplace. If there were a good mutual fit, I'd be interested in exploring whether continued employment through an appropriate employment permit would be possible after my WHA ends.

I understand that a longer-term arrangement would depend on the position, the employer meeting the relevant requirements, and my eligibility for the applicable employment permit. I would also comply with the conditions of my authorization and would not assume that my WHA automatically entitles me to remain or continue working beyond its validity.
