Can I work as a kindergarten teacher in the US?

I am curious about getting a job in the US being a kindergarten teacher from Iceland with 15 years of experience. Would I be credited? Is there a high need for kindergarten teachers and would it be easy to get a sponsor to help with a visa?

You are eligible for a 1 to 5-year teaching visa if:

1. You are currently a teacher in your home country, or

2. You have an advanced degree within the past 12 months in either education or in the academic subject field in which you intend to teach.

AND

1. You have at least 2 years of full-time teaching experience in the past 8 years, and

2. You have at least a Bachelor's degree in either education or in the academic subject field in which you intend to teach, and

3. You are proficient in English.

Regarding sponsorship for a visa, it's possible but it can be a bit of a process. You'll need to find a school or organization willing to sponsor you, which can sometimes be a challenge. But with your experience, you might have a better chance compared to someone just starting out.
