Hi All!!! I will be be moving to Ambato soon and wanted to know how big the expat community is in Ambato. Also what are some of the adventurous things i can do whilst im there .Im a fan of hiking , exploring the wild and nature. Any hints or suggestions ? Thanks

Ecuador is heaven for hikers and nature lovers!

Where I live, Montañita on the coast, we have a steady stream of backpackers from all over the world.

We had a poster from Ambato who was active on expat.com threads last year.

She was living with an Ecuadorian partner .. and liked Ambato, although she found no assistance from the police with a noise problem. Somebody owned dogs that were barking all the time near her place.

She said she was the only Gringa or Gringo around.

Ambato may not be a good location long-term if frequent contact with Expats is important.
