Hello Julien and thank you for this invaluable service! I am David and I currently reside in Arizona but am exploring various countries to possibly partially or fully retire to. I am interested in Cuenca, Ecuador but have just started earnestly to explore. I am a healthcare provider with a doctorate, an MBA, and a Juris Master (I hope they help somewhere!). I am trying to learn Spanish but it's a slow go.

Hi everyone! Greetings from Quito, Ecuador!

I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I'm Carlos, an Ecuadorian based in Quito, with a background in technology, business, and working with people from different countries and cultures.

I've been thinking lately about how complicated moving to another country can be, especially when you're unfamiliar with the language, local procedures, or simply how things work.

Ecuador has a lot to offer, but I can imagine that figuring out where to live, finding a decent place to rent, dealing with paperwork, setting up services, or even knowing who to trust can be quite frustrating when you're new here.

That's actually something I've been considering getting involved in: helping people who are planning to relocate to Ecuador, or who have already arrived and could use someone local to help them navigate things a little more easily.

I'm based in Quito, so I'm particularly familiar with the city and its surrounding areas, including Cumbayá and Tumbaco.

Anyway, I'd be happy to connect with anyone considering making Ecuador their new home, whether you're still exploring the idea or already making plans. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or just want a local perspective.
