Receiving Books in Brazil from the US

GuestPoster279

Hello:
I am interested to know people’s experience ordering books from the US, say Amazon USA or similar.
Did it work well? Delays and/or charges at Brazilian customs?

Was the shipping cost expensive? If you had any issue did the seller assist?

Thanks
Paul

Yes - very well.

You need to be sure that your CPF is on any package shipping from the US.  Amazon is familiar with the Brazilian regs, though, and will ask you for your CPF, and save it in your shipping profile for future shipments.

Shipping charges are rather high; taxes on books should not be.   Amazon will estimate both, charge you upfront, and refund any overpayment to your credit card.

Paul - so my way around waiting and possibly paying import or shipping charges - for books that are available via this venue - I use Audible. I get the book instantly and enjoy listening with my earphones on sleepless mornings while other sleep away.

I hadn't listened to books for eons and have found it extremely enjoyable.

Obviously - the book list is pretty small compared to....... But then there's Kindle.
