Applying a student visa while inside Brazil

kattie1120

I recently saw a Facebook post that if you are already in Brazil you can apply a student visa directly at the local Federal Police station. How true is this? Has anyone applied (and successfully granted) a student visa while in Brazil? Please share your experience.

Also, for people who have recently applied for a student visa, what documents did you present? Google results are outdated.

Muito obrigada!

What happened? :) could you do it?

Hi!

I had a chat with a foreigner in Rio and he applied and was granted a student visa there.

I also emailed the Federal Police in Campo Grande and they confirmed that I can apply a student visa when I get there.

Thank you Kattie

On a slightly different topic, did you happen to extend your tourist visa to 180 days?

We go 3/4 verbal OK's from the federal police, but never could get anything in writing.

Flying tomorrow :)

Hi!

No I only stayed in Brazil for 38 days.

Safe travels!
