Dont under estimate the power of the RNE permanent card

You are basically treated as a Brazilian, just cant vote and don't need to report to military, but you get every other benifit a Brazilian gets including reduced fee's at national parks etc

Wow great

Based on first person testimony please note that Chile will not entertain any foreigners who try and enter Chile using the RNE (CIE or CRNM).

Furthermore please note that on the web link provided for Chile it mentions “Cedula de Identidade” only.

It doesn’t mention “Cedula de Identidade para Estrangeiros”

Based on the experience of a very close friend of mine from Jordan, please note that he traveled with his family to Argentina where he received entry on arrival just by showing his CIEs.  However from Argentina when they tried entering Chile, the Chilean officials stated that they are able to enter on a Brazilian ID card only if they are Brazilian citizens, meaning the RG.

Lastly immigration officials in different countries are more strict towards people who belong to under developed nations more than people who belong to developed nations and that also makes a difference.
