What forms of ID do you carry with you in your wallet?

Before my CPF was final I was told I needed to carry a certified copy of my passport. (not the original) in case I lost it. your temporary RNE. I carried my cpf too. Now that I have my Permanent RNE and my Brazilian Drivers License I carry those 2 items. You CPF number will be on your drivers License.  I hope this helps

By law in Brazll the only document you are REQUIRED to carry with you at all times is your ID.

In the case of a born Brazilian that is their RG (Registro Geral).

In the case of an expat (not permanent resident and not a citizen) you should carry a CERTIFIED COPY of your passport ID pages and visa page.

If you have applied for permanency then you're required to carry the ORIGINAL of your protocol, along with the copy of your passport.

If you've been granted permanency you must carry your Cédula de Identidade Estrangeiro (CIE) with you at all times.

While not REQUIRED by law you should also carry your CPF with you at all times, especially if you plan on buying anything in this country.... you don't exist and you're invisible if you don't have a CPF number. 

Any additional documents you should only carry when you actually need them. You should only carry your home DL or your Brazilian CNH when you are actually going to use the car. You should NEVER leave the registration documents in a car, so it is usual for most people to keep their DL and registration together.

NEVER carry the ORIGINAL of your passport around with you except if you're going to the Federal Police or you actually need it to travel, the Certified Copy will suffice in all other situations. You don't want to know the headaches losing your passport would create here in Brazil.
