Digestive biscuits equivalents?

Hey everyone, I'm preparing a banoffee pie, do you know what kind of biscuits i could use as a base instead of the McVities Digestive Biscuits or the famous Hob Nobs?

Your best choice for the substitute will be a biscuit often called Maizena or Maria.

You could also use Champagne buiscuits, the kind of ladyfingers used to make a Charlotte.

I see this is an old post.

I am wondering if anything has changed over the past 10 years. I am looking to substitute digestive biscuits for a baboffee pie base.

@Saudades - which of the suggested options did you use?

Not a big fan of tortas in Brazil. (Maybe the wheat?) Some use Brazil nuts around here for baboffee base.

in the northeast we have Maria brand cookies which are super similar to digestives, know its not what your looking for but Texan did cover some good alternatives

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep an eye out for them to do my very biased comparisons to the almighty Digestive. Luckily I am visiting home in 3 weeks time so I'll be able to gorge myself on all the English junk food I've missed.

Going to sound corny, But I do miss scones and devon cream 100% even though im not british. that was the best combination with tea or coffee ( coffee in my case )
