Black Tufted-eared Marmoset photo

James

Hi Douglas,

I'm posting this to thank you so very much for sharing your photo of the Black Tufted-eared Marmoset or as they are commonly known here the 'sagui de tufo preto'. Your photo reminded me of the period in which I lived in Belo Horizonte (Xangri-la) out by the zoo. It was a neighborhood still being developed and because of the abundance of surrounding vegetation there was a great deal of wildlife. I remember quite well sitting on the balcony off my bedroom in the mornings and watching the Toucans flitting from tree to tree nearby.

The marmosets, which most of the locals mistakenly refer to micos, were everywhere. They are extremely sociable animals and at least the ones that lived in the areas surrounding my house weren't the least bit intimidated by humans sharing 'their' territory. Quite to the contrary, with a little patience and by making no movements that would threaten them in any way they ended up taking offerings of small fruits right out of your hand.

Like most expats here I know precious little about the Brazilian birds and animals. With your expertise I was wondering if you could create a few postings to teach us all a little about the tremendous variety of wildlife that surrounds us here. I know I would love to know more and I'm sure that others would too.

By the way, if you have your photos on Photobucket or some other similar site it's rather easy to link them into the topic posting and have them show up in the posting itself. I can explain how if you want to try it out. It comes out looking like this photo.... this one is the Reebok Shoemobile

Hi James,

Thank you!  I posted questions about this either here, or perhaps somewhere else, offering to post photos of nature in Brazil, but got no response, and gave up.  I would be happy to do this.  All my photos are on my computer, rather than Photobucket, but do have many on my Facebook page, and on www.douglastrent.com/photography.  I would be happy to put them somewhere if this will help.  You can also be my friend on Facebook....douglasbtrent.

I have many creatures with info on my Facebook page...enjoy!

Cheers, Douglas

Hi my friend,

The process of attaching photos within the post, as far as I've found, is far simpler if you create a Photobucket account and have them uploaded there. Any other method is much more time consuming and involves more steps.

One problem with creating hyperlinks to your photos on social networks like Facebook, Twitter or the almost defunct Orkut is that you are giving up your privacy. If you want an full set of simple instructions how to attach photos PM me and I will send them to you.
