Moving to João Pessoa This Winter Looking to Connect

I’m an American planning to move to João Pessoa this winter and stay for at least a few months. I’m currently learning Portuguese and would love to connect with people who already live there, both expats and locals.

I’m especially interested in getting to know the city, beach life, coffee spots, and generally building a small social circle once I arrive. I’d also be grateful for any advice about neighborhoods, day-to-day life, or local WhatsApp/social groups.

Looking forward to João Pessoa, feel free to message me if you’re in the area.

Just FYI The next few months are summer, since you'll be in South America :-)

Hi! Welcome to João Pessoa! 😊

I saw your post and really liked your idea of getting to know the city and connecting with locals and expats.

I’m a real estate consultant based in João Pessoa, specializing in beach properties in João Pessoa and Cabedelo. I work with both Brazilian and international clients, so I’d be happy to help you with local tips, neighborhoods, beaches, coffee spots and, of course, anything you may need when looking for a place to stay.

Feel free to message me anytime. It would be a pleasure to connect!

Dear Adam. Where are you from in the States?

This Bo Gerdin calling. Saw your message and I think I can help. I'm Swedish myself and living as expat for almost 30 years in Brazil. I'm married to a braziian lady from João Pessoa. We have lived together 6 years in Rio, 6 years in Stockholm Sweden and moved to Natal northeast 2003, lived there for 21 years and 2024 we moved to João Pessoa. We and I love it. If you need any advice I am at your disposal. Welcome to João Pessoa and Paradise!
