Nubank account

FahadQ

Hi, how is everyone?

I wanted to ask can I create a Nubank account while I wait for my immigration card? I already have my CPF. I'm trying to do it with the app but it keeps asking me for an ID. Any idea what I can do? please let me know.

Thanks!

Have you tried using your passport as an ID? You have the CPF. The Nubank pages say that you can use a passport as an ID. If that doesn't work here's their support email address.

OR just wait until your resident card is in hand.

Good luck!

Hello All,

Thank you so much for your replies @cheryl and @mberigan

I'll try using my passport like you suggest and update you. Wish you both a wonderful weekend.

Bear in mind that ebanks like Nubank do not have a SWIFT code or similar, so if you want to transfer internationally to your Nubank account you must use another service like Wise...

Hello Peter,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, thank you I'll try to open a physical bank account too. Wish you a great day.

You'll need the CRNM card to do any of that at a bricks and mortar bank. This is the immigration card you speak of.

Banks normally will not accept the paper protocolo form you get issued while waiting for the physical card, just to open an account. You can certainly try, but, you'll also need your CPF and 2-3 proof of address documents anyways like a Brasilian cell phone bill, local gas bill, electricity bill, IPTU property tax bill etc, all in your name.

You'll need the CRNM card to get any of those address verification documents as well. Kind of a catch 22 situation. Best suggestion I have is  to get someone you know here make a personal introduction for you at their bank, and see if that helps.

Actually you can get proofs of address with just a CPF, passport ID and no CRNM. That is how many foreigners have bills in their name for their holiday/investment homes here. A rental contract can also serve as a proof of address...

Nubank was not possible with only cpf last i checked, and passport doesnt fit their online application process.

But Neon bank is possible with only cpf.
