Foreclosure tax deals?

antonioggriffin

A couple months ago I combed through some government websites, and wondered if Brazil has any foreclosure deals?

@antonioggriffin, foreclosure - like real estate properties re-possessed by banks, local municipalities, or federal government?

For instance, I heard something about the FBI auctioning the properties and proceeds of criminals.  I don't think that those are legitimate sales - but rather a sting operation to see who had a stake.

I have also heard about auction sales on the stairs of a court in some capitol city and this sounded like buying properties without even seeing it - like gambling.  Only people who have "inside information" can profit from this.

I would be interested in getting more information about this too - but it has to be fully legal and legit.

I have never participated in a property auction, but I have read about them.  Here's an example:

This looks legit as the transfers need to go through Banco do Brasil...  I suspect that real estate professionals should have knowledge of this as this tends to refer to large purchases.

Anyone knows how this works and can help?
