Shipping your household from the Philippines to the USA

Hello forum members:

I am in the process of moving back to the USA and would like to take all of our household items back to the USA. When we moved here over 10 years ago, we had a company in the US pack all of our items and shipped them here to the Philippines. They even delivered every thing to our house.

I have contacted some companies, but they are VERY expensive and not all companies will ship. They say that the US Customs restrictions are hard to comply with.

Anyone have any recent experience on shipping to the USA?

When we returned to the States from Italy 12 years ago, we brought back our personal belongings (including several dozen pairs of Italian shoes ) and household items which we were emotionally attached to (paintings, artisan glassware, handmade linen, etc.) on the flight. We paid baggage fee for 17 extra boxes. We calculated the cost between that and a moving company and our way came out better.
