What's the hardest part of making friends in the UAE?

I’ve been wondering about this lately. Moving to a new country is one thing, but actually building a social circle seems like a different challenge altogether.


For those who’ve been living in the UAE for a while, how did you make friends here? Was it mainly through work, hobbies, neighbours, sports, or just randomly meeting people?


And do you find it easier or harder to make genuine friendships here compared with where you lived before?
