Even izmir is comparable modern compared to rest of Turkey, I would personally recommend sites with a security guard at the enterance confirming every visitor before taking in.

Such sites are more expensive by means of rent and monthly payments yet as you are a woman living as an expat, security is more important I guess.

Aside from that, everyone LOVES izmir and dreams to live there eventually.

Enjoy your stay there and savor the coastline "kordon" by yourself or and with your family.

you are welcome. I live in Istanbul I love izmir. Its a lovely city with less people compared to Istanbul yet people there are more liberal and city surroundings are pretty nice as well.
