Hi,

For the ones living in Izmir, what would you suggest to discover the region?

When you have friends or family visiting you, where do you go with them? What are the must-see places in Izmir, the tourist sites?

How to visit the region in an original way? Any unusual or unknown place to recommend?

What would you suggest for a couple of days of for a week of holidays in Izmir?

if you can drive and rent a car, go towards the south from the seaside road that goes to cesme. it will leave seaside, and then connect to seaside every now and then, but you will see a lot of seaside small towns like ilica, urla until cesme. there are smaller and bigger ones. the ones which have not been commercialized as much as cesme are very cheap, authentic and also rustic. beaches, gozleme, local food may be found - delicious and cheap.

city itself has many sights. kizlaragasi hani in konak in kemeralti market is a place to see. right next to it in kemeralti market they have silver shops, seed shops, natural stone shops and many other shops towards its north. (from textile to jewelry).

karsiyaka is a nice place, they do coffee on coal there - it should be in the 3rd or 4th street from left when you enter. right after is bankasi atms.

you must go to ihlamuralti and go eat kumru in kumrucu eyup. its better than cesme kumru they make in cesme. everyone will know if you ask there. you may go there by taxi or by car. or by bus.
