Mobile phone not working !!

Hello to all fellow expats!!

I guess this problem every one of us faces when in Istanbul. As per the Turkish rules, phones from foreign origins close after 30 days. So i just wanted to share this with all foreigner friends in turkey.

For unlocking a phone:

Vergi/taxes-115 Lira
Traveling cost to tax office/AVEA/TURKCELL/VODAFONE- 50-100 Lira depending on the location and mode of conveyance

This has to be done within 30 days of your arrival.

I faced the same problems and finally found some help from friends and was unable to get my phone unlocked

So, if any one needs help in this situation without wanting to run around like crazy, interact with non-English speaking people...can contact me. My friend can help you with it and is willing to do all running around for 150$ approximately....So you can now sit back and relax. All you need is the make and model of phone and the IMEI number and your phone's working again!!!

I understand how hard it can be to be stranded in a foreign country with any phone, So i thought it would be helpful to share my findings with you!!

By the way I parted with 115 lira +112 lira in communication before and my phone still did not work as i had passed the 30 days timeline owing to AVEA people negligence..But being a foreigner what could i do?? and specially with the language issues, i finally chose this
