GAMCA certification suspended?

My wife was due to apply for a family resident visa at Etimad in Islamabad today. She's been told that Saudi embassy has stopped accepting GAMCA medical certificates for now, due to ongoing issue between Saudi embassy and GAMCA.

Anyone aware of this situation? and when things are expected to resume? any alternate routes available here?
