The usual questions from new people!!

simon and helen

Hello all,

Moving to Jeddah in stages at the end of this year. Me in october followed by helen and the kids in the end of december.
I'm going to avoid the obvious question about the different compounds - they all look nice, and I guess it will be a question of which wait list we pop to the top of first.

My question rather is to do with dogs. We have two labradors - and part of the agreement with have with the kids (yep - quite a bit of bribery has been required to get them on board) is to bring the dogs along.
Aside from the utter rigmarole of pet passports, vets and dog visas - does anyone know what the stance of the big compounds is to dogs?. Esp sharbatly village, as basateen and andalus (the ones we have wait listed on).

How do people on compounds feel about the presence of dogs? (for ref - they are exceptionally child friendly dogs).

Thanks all -

and at risk of contradicting myself - any other advice warmly welcomed. I've been to KSA a few times for work, but helen has yet to see it.

I've seen large dogs on compounds before (ironically, Huskies--in the desert!) and there didn't seem to be any problems.

Thank you very much :-)
They are also cat friendly !

But I should probably specify they were western compounds.  I don't know how they're received on 'mixed' compounds.
