Hello everyone

I am new to Oman and Kind of unfamiliar with many rules and regulations.

I was in Qatar staying with my family, from Oct I was transferred to Oman, Ihave recently got my work permit for Oman but it took me 4 month to get it. Meanwhile my family was staying back in India.

To bring them here I had applied for tourists visa 2 days back, however today I got my work permit, now I want to apply for Family visa for my wife and daughter.

I have following 2 questions.

1) I was told that the old visa needs to be cancelled to be able to apply for new visa. Could you please tell me how to cancel a tourist visa.

2) GAMCA approves medical test - I don't know if pre- test is required for family to get visa. Court you please confirm if it's possible to do this test once they arrive in Muscat ? Or
It's better to bring my wife here on tourist visa so that her visa is used and get the medicay test done in Oman and send them back to apply for Family visa .

Any feedback is much appreciated as my wife and daughter are very uncomfortable as all of their stuff is here and they have just waiting to come down in Muscat and get settled.

Hi hpathak,

To get a family visit visa cancelled, you have to contact your company PRO, since he would have been the person who would have got you the visas in the first place.

Secondly, your family can come on the family joining visa. They can get the GAMCA tests done in Oman. You could ask your company PRO to see if he can get their visit visas transferred to family joining visa. It is possible, with some push.

Many thanks for the reply it gave me Sen e of comfort as my wife had to run a lot in India with little daughter for GAMCO test.

On visit visa the visa I had applied for my wife is Tourist visa and I had applied this using online portal myself. But there is no option to cancel it. Could you throw some light on way ahead.

Am not sure if a visit visa issued online can be cancelled.

Check with your company PRO. They are the best 'go-to' persons on concerns such as yours.
