* Going by today's currency exchange rate, 850.00 USD will fetch you 326.910 OMR.

* For a single person with no financial commitments, and with all the essentials being provided for by the company, like what you've mentioned, the amount should be okay to manage.

* Compared to all the other GCC nationalities, Omanis by nature are by far the best. They're polite, respectful and considerate to expatriates.

* Whether consumer durables and non-durables are expensive or not, is a very relative question. What are you comparing against ?
