Expats central region

I believe you're from Scotland. I know a few scottish living in Tomar (1h30 distance). They have a small bar in the city. I can give the directions.

Still, I am always wondering why one of the first moves expats do is connecting with their likes. I am quite opposed to that because of the risks of creating "expats clusters". You can see this in all expats targets, South East Asia, the Pacific....
To me, expatriating is being cleansed of the former experience into a new Culture, Language, People.
No wish here to state the Truth, just expressing an Opinion.

My opinion too.  But most expats wish to get closer to other expats, preferentially from their own country.

There are a lot of expats living around the silver coast area.  All sorts - British, Dutch, French, etc.
Take a look at Mais Jazz, Caldas da Rainha.  There is a mixed bunch at the monthly session.
