Spouse as Dependent

reynbod2003

Hi! My  husband is not sure yet he wants to move to Portugal, but I do. So I have applied for a D7 Visa and make enough on my own to be approved. If he changes his mind later ( I think he may) can he just apply as a dependent on me? I make more money in passive incomes then he, although he has some nice savings, but mine are more. If so, and he does apply, as a dependent, what documents does he need? Is it the same as mine or different. And does he have to wait until my D7 and AMIA approvals are are done, or can he apply after just my D7 Visa approval. Thank you for any help

Hi @reynbod2003, Welcome.

He can apply for a residence visa for family reunification (D6), but nowadays it takes much longer than to apply for a D7 for his own. If his passive income is enough for the D7, I suggest he use the D7. As for proving accommodation for him, it will be easier as he will be able to use your accommodation. The rest of the requirements are practically the same.
